Living within The Park
The Park Estate is an exclusive unique and tranquil residential area, conveniently situated close to Nottingham city centre. It is considered Nottingham’s premier address.
The area derives its name and origin from a royal park once attached to Nottingham Castle.
Since 1969 The Park Estate has been classified as a conservation area and is regarded as being an area of special architectural and historical interest.
The overall layout of the estate was designed by Thomas Chambers Hine for the fifth Duke of Newcastle as a “quality residential estate” in the early 1850s. Many of the properties within The Park were designed by noted architects such as P F Robinson and Watson Fothergill.
Today, the Victorian heritage of The Park is not only evident in its many stunning properties but also by hundreds of Victorian gas lamps which continue to light the estate.
